Journey and Discovery

Barbara Gordon, an internationally known Montessorian, first designed the Montessori Journey and Discovery to help answer the question, “What did you do at school today?”

Each day, MEC students enter a classroom full of unique materials specifically designed to meet their educational, social, and intrinsic needs. The Montessori Journey and Discovery is an opportunity to mirror your child’s journey, starting in the Toddler classroom and progressing all the way through Middle School.

Your journey will begin with a brief meeting in the great room where you will be asked to leave your cell phones and other distractions behind. You will then be invited to enter the classrooms and interact with the materials the students use each day.

In each room, the teachers will provide written instructions to help guide the adults through the lessons.
This will be an adult-only event. Children will not be allowed on the school campus during the Montessori Journey and Discovery.  This event is designed for parents of all age groups, toddler through middle school.
